Crossing continents
Last week, our CEO András travelled to Tokyo to lead a 3-hour workshop at the Minato Center, hosted by Born Digital with the support of Autodesk and CGWorld. Around 200 professionals from Japan’s architectural visualisation community joined us for the session.
The workshop unfolded in three focused 40-minute chapters, followed by a full hour of open Q&A. We walked through ZOA Studio’s animation workflow in detail, sharing both the creative and technical thinking that shapes our work.
What stood out went beyond tools and techniques. The conversations revealed a clear appetite for connection and exchange within Japan’s emerging archviz scene. Around 50 participants stayed long after the final slide, continuing the discussion over drinks—speaking not just about render engines and workflows, but about the shared challenges and ambitions of our field.
András described the atmosphere as warm and deeply respectful. “It’s clear the Japanese archviz scene is still forming its own identity,” he noted. “There’s huge potential here, and perhaps this was one small step toward building a stronger community.”
We are especially grateful to Aiko, Takeru, and Ken for their hospitality—the welcome dinner, local guidance, and the photographs they shared from the event.
The trip was also a reminder of Japan’s deep-rooted commitment to quality. From public transport to urban design, every detail seems considered, efficient, and built to serve. It’s the same principle we value in our own work.
With new relationships formed and ideas exchanged, we return from Tokyo optimistic. The seeds planted there will, we hope, grow into ongoing collaborations that strengthen and connect the global archviz community.
