Nalepaland
Introducing a New Open Space In Cooperation with Imagina & LAVA
The New Berlin Workaway
Nalepaland is the new open space in Berlin for pioneers. It embodies the legendary spirit of new beginnings for which the city has been famous since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Directly at the historical Nalepastrasse radio station, halfway between the TV Tower and Müggelsee, a new office building for “Smart Creators” will be built.
The transparent cube
Nalepaland provides XXL open spaces, roof gardens, balconies, and contemporary architecture pure—designed by LAVA Architects. LAVA, Bollinger + Grohmann, and Happold created a transparent cube with a contextual facade and light-flooded atrium to stimulate the next generation and Berlin’s music, tech, and gaming culture with plenty of room and an inspiring environment. Floor plans are not carved in stone but adapt to the needs of future tenants.
Out of Berlin
The Nalepaland project combines the best of both Berlin worlds: big business and dangling legs. The district, Oberschöneweide is developing due to its proximity to the Mitte, but it also provides greenery and connection to public transport and Berlin‘s shared and e-mobility hub.
Bringing a vision to life
We also want to make sure the 86 second-long animation brings the vision of the future area to life: it demonstrates potential tenants` arrival from the street, the relationship to the neighboring buildings, and the connection to the River Spree. In fact, now it’s one of the signature works of our visualization studio. From its founding in 2005, ZOA has looked for novel ways to animate architecture, dramatically increasing impact. Pioneering doesn’t always work, but when it does—as with the Nalepaland animation—the effect is significant. Just knowing we’re putting something out there that won’t all look and feel the same, that’s our sweet spot: That’s what we love to do.
